EC 337: Economics of the Government Sector


Market imperfections and the role of the public sector; spending and taxation in principle and practice; government budgets and the budgeting process, including new approaches to budgeting decisions; critical analysis of fiscal policy; intergovernmental fiscal relations; economic analysis of voting systems and other public choice mechanisms.

Prerequisites: 251, 252.
