EC 315: Empirical Methods in Economics


An introduction to the application of statistical models and methods to economic problems; simple and multiple linear regression odels; generalized least-squares; model building and related topics. Emphasis is on the use of econometric software to analyze data and to test hypotheses. This course fullfills the second-level Computer Competency requiremetn in the core curriculum.

Prerequisites: 251 and 252, MATH 303 or QMCS 220.

(Normally offered every semester.)
